IMPAKTER Editorial Guidelines

These editorial guidelines apply exclusively to media agencies, digital marketing agencies, PR firms, and guest-post resellers submitting editorial content on behalf of clients to Impakter.

By submitting content, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to all requirements below.
Non-compliant submissions will be rejected without publication.


1. Who These Guidelines Are For

This page is intended for:

  • Media agencies managing branded placements
  • Digital marketing and SEO agencies
  • Guest-post resellers submitting on behalf of third-party clients
  • PR agencies placing sponsored editorial content

These guidelines are not intended for individual bloggers or unpaid contributors.


2. Editorial Positioning & Audience

Impakter is a global digital publication covering:

  • Sustainability and ESG
  • Business, policy, and geopolitics
  • Climate, energy, and innovation
  • Social impact and global affairs

All submissions must be:

  • Informational and editorial in tone
  • Written for Impakterโ€™s audience, not as advertorial copy
  • Clearly relevant to at least one editorial category

Overtly promotional, sales-driven, or thin SEO content will be rejected.


3. Sponsored & Client Content Policy

Impakter accepts sponsored editorial content submitted by agencies, subject to editorial review.

Key principles

  • Content must provide genuine informational value
  • Client promotion must be subtle, contextual, and restrained
  • Press releases, advertorials, and direct sales copy are not accepted

Impakter reserves the right to edit or reject submissions that do not meet editorial or compliance standards.


4. Editorial Standards (Mandatory)

All submissions must comply with the following non-negotiable editorial standards.
Failure to meet these requirements results in automatic rejection, regardless of link compliance or commercial terms.


Originality & Publication Status

  • Content must be 100% original
  • Content must be human-written
  • Content must be unpublished elsewhere, including:
    • Agency blogs
    • Client websites
    • Medium, LinkedIn, or similar platforms
    • Private blog networks (PBNs)

Duplicate, rewritten, scraped, or lightly modified content is not accepted.


AI Content Policy

Impakter does not accept AI-generated articles.

  • โŒ Fully AI-written content is prohibited
  • โŒ Heavily AI-generated or AI-spun content is prohibited

A maximum of 15% AI assistance is tolerated only for:

  • Grammar correction
  • Sentence restructuring
  • Readability improvements

AI may not be used to generate:

  • Entire articles
  • Paragraphs
  • Analysis, arguments, or opinions

Agencies are responsible for ensuring compliance before submission.


AI Detection & Verification

All submissions are checked using AI-detection tools, including but not limited to:

Content exceeding acceptable AI-detection thresholds will be rejected without revision.
Attempts to bypass AI detection may result in agency blacklisting.


Writing Style & Editorial Quality (AP Style)

All content must follow AP Style (Associated Press Style), the professional standard used in journalism and global media.

AP Style ensures:

  • Clarity and conciseness
  • Neutral, fact-based tone
  • Consistent grammar, punctuation, and capitalization
  • Newsroom-quality writing standards

Agencies are expected to be familiar with and adhere to the Associated Press Stylebook.

Submissions failing AP Style requirements may be rejected or returned for revision.


5. SEO Requirements

All agency submissions must comply with Impakterโ€™s SEO standards to ensure search visibility and editorial consistency.

Core SEO Requirements

Focus Keyphrase

  • One primary focus keyphrase per article
  • Must be integrated naturally into:
    • SEO title
    • URL slug
    • Meta description
    • First paragraph

SEO Title

  • Required
  • 50โ€“60 characters
  • Must include the focus keyphrase
  • Click-optimized and unique

URL Slug

  • Lowercase, hyphen-separated
  • Short, descriptive, and aligned with the focus keyphrase

Meta Description

  • Required
  • 140โ€“160 characters
  • Must include the focus keyphrase
  • Written for users, not keyword stuffing

Tags

  • 3โ€“7 relevant tags
  • Must accurately reflect article topics
  • No spam or irrelevant tagging


Linking Requirements (SEO)

  • At least two outbound links to authoritative, non-competitive sources
    (e.g., major media, academic institutions, government websites)
  • At least one internal link to an existing Impakter article
  • All links must be editorially relevant and naturally placed


Technical & Structural SEO

  • Proper heading hierarchy (H2 / H3) required
  • Clear paragraph structure and readability
  • Images must include:
    • Descriptive filenames
    • Optimized alt text


Editorial SEO Control

Impakter reserves the right to:

  • Edit SEO titles, slugs, meta descriptions, and tags
  • Add, modify, or remove internal and external links
  • Adjust on-page SEO elements to meet editorial standards


6. Link & Anchor Policy

Agencies must strictly follow the link rules below.

Allowed

โœ… 1 dofollow link per client - 2 dofollow link per guest post max

โœ… Branded anchors (company or brand name)

โœ… Natural URL anchors

โœ… Contextual homepage or inner-page links

Not Allowed

โŒ Affiliate links

โŒ Coupon, promo-code, or tracking links

โŒ Keyword-stuffed or exact-match commercial anchors

โŒ Multiple client links in a single article

โŒ Forced or irrelevant link placement

Impakter reserves the right to remove or modify links that violate these rules.


7. Prohibited Industries & Content

We do not accept content related to:

โŒ Adult or pornographic material

โŒ Gambling or betting

โŒ Payday loans or predatory finance

โŒ Illegal substances

โŒ Unregulated crypto schemes or scams

โŒ Hate speech, misinformation, or defamatory content

If you are unsure whether a niche is acceptable, contact us before submission.


8. Content Quality Requirements

All submissions must meet the following standards:

  • Minimum length: 1,000 words
  • Clear structure with H2 and H3 headings
  • Well-researched and factually accurate
  • Neutral, authoritative, professional tone
  • Written specifically for Impakterโ€™s readership

Low-quality, templated, spun, or shallow content will be rejected.


9. Formatting & Media Guidelines

  • Short paragraphs and clear formatting
  • At least one royalty-free or properly licensed image
  • Image alt text required
  • Agencies are responsible for image licensing compliance


10. Submission & Review Process

  1. Submit content through the official submission process
  2. Editorial review typically takes 3โ€“5 business days
  3. Minor revisions may be requested
  4. Final approval is at Impakterโ€™s editorial discretion

Submission does not guarantee publication.


11. Edits, Revisions & Rejections

  • Impakter may edit content for clarity, style, SEO, and compliance
  • Major violations result in rejection
  • Rejected content may be resubmitted only after full correction
  • Editorial decisions are final


12. Post-Publication Policy

  • Published links are expected to remain stable
  • Link changes after publication are not guaranteed
  • Content may be updated or removed if violations are discovered later


13. Pre-Submission Checklist (For Agencies)

Before submitting, confirm that:

  • โœ… Content is original, human-written, and unpublished
  • โœ… AI usage does not exceed permitted limits
  • โœ… AP Style is followed
  • โœ… SEO requirements are met
  • โœ… Only one compliant client link is included
  • โœ… No prohibited industries are involved
  • โœ… Images are copyright-safe
